Surface Grinder Operates with Maximum Productivity, Minimum Cycle Times
The TechMaster 844, from Jones and Shipman, offers 800 mm x 400 mm grinding capacity with a vertical capacity of 360 mm. The machine is highly accurate and stiff, has both a high capacity and metal removal rate, and it is designed for toolrooms and mold-making facilities.
Jones and Shipman's software, which the TechMaster is equipped with, is a key to the machine's productivity and user-friendly features. Operators are not responsible for an input code, so training, setup and changeover times are all reduced, while productivity is maximized and cycle times minimized.
The TechMaster 844 has a rigid construction with component parts spaced out. The wheelhead, which moves vertically on Turcite coated slides, has a hardened and precision-ground spindle that rotates in angular contact. The table and saddle slideways are also coated with Turcite, hand scraped and automatically lubricated for low friction. The Y and Z axes are controlled and positioned by GE-Fanuc AC servo motors, and the table axis is powered hydraulically by a modular power pack.
A "dress on demand" feature allows straight formed wheel dressing to take place at any point in the cycle. The machine automatically returns to its last position to pick up where it left off in the dressing procedure.
