KISSsoft Releases Bearing Calculation Module
August 5, 2011—For the bearing calculation in KISSsoft, a new module is available (module WB4). This module permits the calculation of a single bearing directly according to the method of ISO 16281, taking into account the inner geometry, without the need to determine the forces in the shaft editor as previously required. In addition, deformations of the internal and outer ring, as well as the profiling of the roller can be set (in axial-/ cylindrical - or tapered roller bearing). These data permit a very realistic consideration of the actual bearing loading. This enhanced functionality provides great advantages for bearing manufacturers and designers who know applied loads from other sources (FEM), but want to learn more about load distribution and pressure ratio in a bearing.
