Linamar Corp. announced plans to add 100,000 square feet to its existing facility to accommodate new and future gear manufacturing programs resulting from the companys investment in gear product and process innovations.
Linamar will perform advanced gear processing development work in the expanded space in conjunction with its new R&D and training center.
The advancement is supported by loans from the company, the government of Canada and the provincial government through the Ontario Automotive Investment Strategy. According to a company press release, Canadas new government announced a repayable loan specifically for gear technology.
Construction will begin this spring and is expected to commence by the end of 2007.
