Performance Gear Adds Inspection Capabilities

Performance Gear Systems, Inc. has purchased a Hofler ZAP Analytical Gear Checking Machine. According to the company’s press release, this robot gear checker can check pitch, run out and other dimensions that simply can not be measured on conventional equipment.This service is being offered to Performance Gear’s current customer base, and is also going to be used for in process inspections. Performance Gear says normally, this level of inspection is reserved for ground steel gearing. Ed Jedlicka, QC manager for Performance Gear, says "Having state-of-the-art inspection capabilities is a way to differentiate our company from offshore and domestic plastic gear manufacturers." The equipment was placed in service in December 2006.
