Exact Metrology Hosts Open House

July 3, 2019
Exact Metrology recently hosted its annual open house in Cincinnati, Ohio. Many old clients, as well as new ones, were on hand to learn about the company’s new technologies. Clients attended several breakout sessions, discussing Polyworks software and GOM CT scanning.

Steve Young, Exact Metrology’s co-president, said the open house was meant to educate clients about Polyworks and some of the new functionalities that have just been released with this software.  In addition, this event was meant to keep clients up-to-date on the technology they can use in their work.    Polyrix can scan an entire part in one machine. According to Young, Polyrix is expandable and can scan “a 4" part or an entire car.”  Furthermore, the machine projects a color map that shows the errors or deviations on the part. The second notable technology that Young mentioned was the Leica ATS 600. It is one of the few scanners that can scan very shiny, dark and chrome-like surfaces.

Young was pleased with the companies in attendance, some of which were Honda, Cummins, Proctor & Gamble and Toyota.  In terms of responses he’s gotten, Young mentioned that attendees had a positive reaction, appreciating the effort that Exact Metrology invests in the open house.

The open house makes it easy to see a lot of interesting technologies that would require attendees to travel to a major trade show. Currently, no changes are planned for the Cincinnati office. However, Exact Metrology has recently hired three new technicians.

Looking towards the future, Young said the company would continue providing clients with the latest information, as well as the latest technology. In addition, Young wants to make sure that “the client is serviced and serviced well.” Referring to the Cincinnati office, Young mentioned that he hopes to hire more people and make sure that customers get results in a timely manner.

Young concluded “We were very happy with the positive feedback from the clients. I just wish that the space could be a little bit larger in the future.”
