Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division recently announced Annie Lien, director of business development for autonomous solutions, will be a featured guest at a #SelfDrivenWomen event on Thursday, July 1, 1:00 – 2:00 pm EST. The virtual event is hosted by Waymo’s Head of State Policy and Government Affairs Annabel R. Chang who will engage Lien, Anca Dragan, and Justyna Zander in a round-table discussion focused on the power of mentorship. #SelfDrivenWomen was launched by Waymo to build and engage the community of women working to develop the future of mobility. Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with a mission to make it safe and easy for people and things to move around. Women serving in the autonomous field are encouraged to join this important forum. Registration for the event is available at the link below.

A veteran transportation and mobility leader, Lien is also a subject matter expert and public speaker. Lien has the distinction of being the finalist team leader of an autonomous vehicle group competing in the prestigious 2007 urban Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) challenge. At Hexagon, she puts more than 20 cumulative years of experience to work in developing business and technical strategies for the autonomous marketplace. Lien joins this round-table of influential women working in the autonomous and mobility field to provide collective perspectives on the importance of receiving mentorship and being a mentor. The panel will also discuss the positive impact that mentorship played throughout their careers, and share valuable tips on cultivating a mentorship.

“Annie Lien is a natural leader and a seasoned professional that is well connected in the global network of transportation,” states Bridget Benedetti, director, marketing and customer experience, North America, Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division. “Her expertise in corporate and startup environments, as well as her specialization in innovative R&D, automation, autonomous driving, ADAS, and AI/ML is invaluable to our business. Not only is she a mentor for women inside Hexagon, she is an inspiration for other women in engineering with her track record of success. Hexagon is proudly and pro-actively taking the initiative to increase female leadership with quantitative goals set for 2023. We kicked off our own Women’s Mentorship program this year in March on International Women’s Day.”
