Ajax TOCCO Magnethermic®, subsidiary of Park-Ohio Holdings Corporation®, designs and manufactures world class induction heating and melting equipment for various industries and applications throughout the world. In addition we provide a range of services including laboratory process development, preventative maintenance, equipment repair and parts, coil repair and installation services.

Ajax TOCCO's solid state power supplies were specifically developed for induction heating applications. These units combined with state-of-the-art material handling designs enables ATM to supply a complete solution to your heat treating needs.

DYNAMIC VARIABLE FREQUENCY

Ajax TOCCO has developed power supplies that free the user of the one frequency, one job syndrome. Ajax TOCCO's heat treating equipment and solid state power supplies were specifically developed for induction applications. They enable the user to accommodate part variations and patterns with very little effort. Ajax TOCCO's variable dynamic frequency approach provides the user with the capability to tune to a specific load, enhance pattern development and improve the production flexibility of any induction system.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT AND CUSTOM AUTOMATION

The Standard Equipment and Custom Automation industry demands system designs that are cost effective and contribute to the bottom line. To meet these challenges, Ajax TOCCO has developed computer control systems to speed change-over, improve quality and set new reliability standards. Many systems are self-monitoring and automatically adjust for minor variations. The use of lean manufacturing cells with automated pick & place fixtures, robotics, and built-in quality control provides the means of handling a wider variety of parts with the same equipment.

PERFORMANCE

Performance and reliability are only as good as the effort designed and built into the system before it is shipped to the customer. Ajax TOCCO makes the extra effort. Our metallurgical testing facilities, complete with our staff metallurgists, assure process parameters are satisfied before equipment shipment.

HEAT TREATING

Ajax TOCCO induction heat treating systems are being used successfully throughout the world for hardening, annealing, stress relieving, tempering, brazing, bonding, shrink fitting, and many other processes requiring fast, efficient, economical heating. These processes are being applied to virtually any shape of part ranging in size from fractions of an inch to substantial lengths and diameters. With more than 90 years of technical development and experience, Ajax TOCCO analyzes customers requirements to provide reliable, efficient, and cost effective solutions to meet their needs. Ajax TOCCO specializes in a wide range of heat treating applications including:

  • Axles
  • Bars
  • Bearings
  • Camshafts/Crankshafts
  • C.V. Joint Components
  • Cylinder Liners
  • Gears/Sprockets
  • Hand Tools
  • Mill Rolls
  • Pins
  • Pistons
  • Shafts/Rods
  • Tubes
  • Valve Seats
  • Wheels, Hubs/Spindles

GEARS

Gear teeth are hardened and quenched a tooth at a time with an AjaxTOCCO induction scanner that features a quality monitor and a servo to precisely control the pattern and depth of hardness.

Sprocket hardening is accomplished with a one power supply dual frequency system. The unit is skid mounted for easy installation, servo driven and features a quality monitoring system.

Yoke shafts and flanged axles are induction hardened and tempered at rates up to 50 parts / hour on dual spindle scanners. Scan speeds and power levels are precisely controlled and monitored with servo drives and computer operator interfaces.
