The late Robert Peaslee's tradition continues with the return of the brazing school. The school will be held at Wall Colmonoy's Brazing Engineering Center at Wall Colmonoy Aerobraze Division in Cincinnati. Our Brazing Engineering Center provides engineering services and training, as well as offering new practical experience on the shop floor!

For over 60 years, Wall Colmonoy engineers have gained practical experience on actual problems in brazing plants around the world. Knowledge and practical application will be taught by the company's industry-leading brazing experts.

The Modern Furnace Brazing School will allow you to apply workable solutions to your brazing needs. In fact, bring your brazing questions to the seminar.

Seminars will be on the following topics: brazing technology, definitions, overview and joint design,  diffusion mechanism and metallurgical reactions between base and filler metal, overview of brazing atmosphere, evaluation and quality control of atmosphere, types of furnaces, heating methods and furnace controls, a detailed look at various nickel-based braze filler metals, brazing aids, and their use and application, reviews of fundamental pre- and after- brazing cleaning, assembly, fixture, brazing cycles, and other brazing processes, inspection methods and process controls, and actual applications and case studies. The school will also provide practical experience on the shop floor for: pre-cleaning, blasting, selecting fixture, setting the furnace cycle, examining the brazed parts, filler metal application methods, screen printing/stencil, NicroSpray System, roller coating, powder, paste dispensing systems, and transfer tape.

The instructors are recognized leaders in brazing technology. Lydia Lee, BSE, M. Eng, MBA Director of the Brazing Engineering Center for Wall Colmonoy, studied brazing with the late Robert Peaslee, as her teacher and mentor. Bob Pfouts, BSME Engineer for Wall Colmonoy Aerobraze, has over 50 years of experience working with customers and finding solutions to their brazing and heat treating problems. Russ Wilcox, BME, MBA Marketing Applications Engineer for Alloy Products, has over 25 years of experience in the brazing industry.

The cost of the course is $1950. Additional attendees from the same plant location are $1850 each. Any cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the course will be subject to a $100 cancellation fee. The course cost also includes Brazing Footprints: Case Studies in High-Temperature Brazing by R.L. Peaslee, the father of Nickel-based brazing. Sessions will run from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM each day. Seminar includes brazing school binder of seminar materials, Continental Breakfast, refreshment between breaks and three lunches. Attendees are responsible for lodging cost, transportation, dinner and incidentals
