Siemens Launches Meet at the Machine Initiative
At IMTS 2026 in Chicago, Siemens introduced Meet at the Machine, an initiative in which Siemens and machine tool builders jointly develop machining solutions. Each solution combines Siemens engineering software and automation hardware with the builder's machine. TRAK Machine Tools is the first partner.
The first phase focuses on the time between buying a new machine and cutting production parts on it. Programming, validation and training usually begin only after a machine is installed. Under the initiative, manufacturers can program, simulate and validate production jobs while their machine is still being built, so they can start preparing for production before the machine is delivered.
"By bringing together engineering software, automation hardware and machine expertise, we enable our customers and users to be productive faster, accelerate return on investment and reduce ramp-up time by up to 50 percent," said Mark Hindsbo, head of Operations Software at Siemens.
"When our customers invest in a new machine, their goal is to achieve productivity and business results as quickly as possible," said Steve Pinto, president of TRAK Machine Tools.
Siemens plans to add machine builders to the initiative and develop solutions for other manufacturing challenges.
