Nidec Machine Tool America to Exhibit Gear Manufacturing and Inspection Technologies

Nidec Machine Tool America will exhibit gear manufacturing and inspection technologies at IMTS 2026. Located in the North Building, Level 3, Booth #237054, the company will feature the newly released RoboCam inspection solution, the ZFA260 gear grinder, and the MSS300 Super Skiving machine.

RoboCam is a robotic camera solution for hob wear evaluation. By leveraging artificial intelligence, the system gives manufacturers an automated approach to assessing hob condition, helping reduce guesswork as well as time spent on evaluation.

Addressing the rising demand for high-volume automotive and robotic components, the ZFA260 gear grinder will be featured as a centerpiece of the exhibit. Designed for high-speed, high-precision machining, the ZFA260 accommodates gears with external diameters up to 260 mm. Its twin-table structure and high-speed rotary performance contribute to reduced non-machining time. The machine also incorporates simultaneous double-tooth flank bias adjustment to help suppress tooth-flank distortion.

Also featured at the booth will be the MSS300 Super Skiving machine for internal and external gear cutting. The MSS300 features a symmetrical structure designed for thermal and mechanical stability. Massive guideways on the three linear axes ensure optimal rigidity, while a twin-ball-screw drive on the Z-axis provides stable power and control. Nidec’s patented Super Skiving tools reduce chip loading, enabling high-efficiency machining with fewer passes. A center-trough base structure removes chips directly from beneath the cutting point to help suppress thermal deformation.

The machine accommodates workpieces with diameters up to 300 mm, a maximum gear width of 100 mm and a maximum spindle speed of 5,000 rpm. It is designed for manufacturers seeking to improve productivity in gear cutting while maintaining stable machining conditions and extending cutter life.

Beyond the equipment featured at IMTS, Nidec Machine Tool America offers a broader portfolio of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, including LAMDA laser powder directed energy deposition systems, ABLASER laser micromachining systems, and Bond Meister room-temperature wafer bonding machines. These technologies serve specialized manufacturing requirements in large-scale 3D metal printing, precision laser processing, and semiconductor production.

Based in Wixom, MI, Nidec Machine Tool America provides in-house sales, service and parts support throughout North America. IMTS attendees are invited to visit Booth #237054 to discuss gear production, tooling, inspection and advanced manufacturing requirements with the company’s team.
