Rapid Gear Celebrates 50 Years of Custom Gear Manufacturing
Rapid Gear, based in Kitchener, Ontario, marked its 50th anniversary with a company picnic attended by employees and Kitchener Mayor Berry Vrbanovic.
Founded in 1976, the company has grown from a small shared facility to more than 40,000 square feet of manufacturing space, producing custom gearing, gearboxes, and power transmission components for customers across North America and internationally. Rapid Gear is now a second-generation, female-led business and credits its participation in the Canadian Tooling & Machining Association's (CTMA) Career-Ready program as a factor in developing manufacturing talent.
