The AGMA Aerospace Gearing committee is seeking new committee members to revise AGMA 926-C99, Recommended Practice for Carburized Aerospace Gearing. Specifically, metallurgy and heat-treating experts are needed. This information sheet recommends material case properties, microstructure, processing procedures, and other critical parameters for carburized aerospace gears. Due to the unique requirements of aerospace gearing, such as typically smaller lot sizes, demands for higher precision, and stringent quality requirements, this information sheet aims to provide deeper, aerospace-specific information than other already published metallurgical specifications such as AGMA 923, Metallurgical Specifications for Steel Gearing or AMS2759/7, Carburizing and Heat Treatment of Carburizing Grade Steel Parts.

Stainless steel ASK Couplings from Miki Pulley feature a unique “sliced” body structure making them an effective low-cost corrosion resistant solution that can accommodate many types of misalignments. The stainless-steel design makes them ideal for use in food and chemical applications.
Tactile or contact probes are the most common metrology technique in the coordinate measurement world, including the more specialized gear measurement community. Tactile probes can be active or passive, scanning or touch only, and may vary in cost and performance depending on the system itself. They are offered by multiple industrial companies as standalone OEM products (e.g., Renishaw) or only included in their coordinate measuring machines (e.g., Zeiss, Klingelnberg, and Hexagon). Their overall performance, especially their robustness and flexibility, have led to a gold standard for most metrology tasks.
Sensor expert SICK has unveiled its robust new Visionary AI-Assist for people detection, outdoor collision avoidance and monitoring. The next generation solution combines high-resolution 2D and 3D image processing with a powerful integrated artificial intelligence (AI) chip in a single device. It can reliably detect people and small objects, and determine their distance from the sensor, even in difficult conditions.
