Surface Combustion Helps Destroy Weapons of Mass Destruction

Surface Combustion of Maumee, OH, has been authorized to proceed in building a highly engineered thermal system for the decontamination of metal munition shells at a Russian plant.
According to the company?s press release, the system will destroy thousands of tons of deadly chemical munitions from an old Soviet era arsenal. The project is one of series funded by Congress to reduce portable, ready-made weapons of mass destruction that a terrorist can obtain.
Surface Combustion completed the engineering phase of this project in early 2003 and multiple units were installed in a plant in Shchuch?ye, just north of Kazakhstan.
