Hardinge V480 and V710 Designed for Speed, High Rapid Traverse Rates

July 25, 2016

Hardinge Inc. has announced the release of their newest vertical machining centers, the Bridgeport V480 and V710.

The Bridgeport V480 and V710 machines feature fast rapid rates, high axis and spindle acceleration/deceleration and a powerful Mitsubishi control packed with many standard features. From job-shop type work to high production manufacturing, the V480 and V710 machines outperform the average machine in their class. With their heavy duty cast iron constructions, 8,278-pound machine weight for the V480 and 8613-pounds for the V710, 10 hp/7.5 kW, 33 ft-lb/47 Nm spindle torque, 20 station Swing Arm ATC and manual pulse generator (MPG), the vertical machining centers are competitively priced machines designed to be best in class.

The Bridgeport V480/V710 is ideal whether you are a job shop or OEM, the machine was designed with flexibility and throughput in mind. The Bridgeport V480/V710 is a quick, small, compact and rugged machine developed for applications that require a rigid, fast and accurate set-up. They are fully digital machines with a rapid traverse rate of 1,417 ipm X, Y and Z and acceleration rates of X: 6 sq m/sec / Y: 4.6 sq m/sec / Z: 3.75 sq m/sec providing a fast and accurate response.

Axis travels for the V480 are X: 18.9" (480 mm), Y: 15.75" (400 mm) and Z: 16.93" (430 mm). For the V710, they are X: 27.87" (708 mm), Y: 15.75" (400 mm) and Z: 16.93" (430 mm)

Standard machine features include a 10.4" color LCD, CT40 or BT40 Big Plus spindle, 10,000 rpm direct-coupled greased spindle, circular flushing ring, coolant chip flush system, three color stack light, 20 tool ATC and many others. The machines are offered with a Mitsubishi M70V type A control. Navi-Mill and embedded Ethernet are also standard.

Some of the popular available options include 12,000 and 15,000 rpm spindles, CTS-Deublin rotary union, through-spindle coolant, 280 psi, air blast, chip conveyors, spindle chiller and 4th axis prewiring. "The Bridgeport V480 and V710 Machining Centers offer a high degree of sophistication and functionality at an attractive price" states Brooke Sykes, director, sales and service turning/milling group. "Like all Bridgeport machining centers, these machines reflect Hardinge's commitment to quality and performance without compromise."
