Under the motto "Going Beyond Future Mobility", the DVS TECHNOLOGY GROUP will present its innovations in the field of machine tools at the world's leading trade fair IMTS 2022 in Chicago from 12th to 17th September 2022. One focus at stand 236920 (North Building, Level 3) will be on precision machines for hard fine machining (e.g. grinding and honing) as well as soft machining (e.g. gearing and turning). In addition, the group will be showing trade visitors new solutions for automation, digitalization, and service.

DVS Ugrind— Unbelievably Convincing
A flexible machine offering hard turning and grinding of shafts and chuck-type components within a single machine platform. With a center height of 350 mm and an overall length of 1800 mm, coupled with a multi-functional turret, this machine guarantees maximum flexibility. The individually configurable MFT allows for ID/OD turning, face turning, and grooving, along with ID/OD grinding, radial grinding, face grinding & taper grinding. An optional measuring probe integrated into the turret allows for pre- and post-measuring of some features.
UGrind advantages:
Additionally, the UGrind provides a workhead spindle(s) with various options for both clamping and grinding wheel dressing. The machine comes standard with a hydrostatic tail stock allowing for < 1.0μ concentricity, all while allowing parts up to 150 kg in weight. Peripheral equipment includes in-process measuring for 100% inspection, 3-point steady rest, automatic grinding wheel balancing, anti-crash & dresser monitoring.
PITTLER SkiveLine— The Compact Multi-Talent
The SkiveLine offers Power Skiving in conjunction with complete machining. An integrated tool magazine allows this efficient gearing technology to be presented without compromise in a 5-axis machine alongside the process of turning, milling, drilling, grinding, thread cutting, and measuring. The flexible use of technology allows machining with a maximum of two chucking processes.
New software tools for easier and faster setup and operation include:
SkivingExpert
Fast program creation without in-depth process knowledge allows machining programs to be created by entering basic data of the workpiece and the tool. Program inclusive of cutting program, process parameters including a plausibility check. SkivingExpert not only simplifies program creation, but also makes it more efficient.
PITTLER ProAC
Faster corrections with reduced waste with ProAC. An actual profile angle error can be entered directly from the measurement log with the software then calculating the correction, automatically leading to increased production times and a reduction in rejected parts.
SkivePit
By simulating the skiving process the tool design can be optimized. When simulating each individual cut, clearance angles can be verified helping to design the tools that will offer longer service life and tool reduction costs.
