Comtorgage Corporation manufactures a variety of hand-held, indicating gages (analog or digital) designed and built to measure various characteristics of machined, molded, forged, and pressed parts. Comtorgages are intended for use on the shop floor, or in the lab, wherever there is a requirement for frequent, and accurate monitoring of specific dimensions, with or without data collection.
Gear related applications include pitch diameter, major diameter, minor diameter, and bore size of spur gears, helical gears, ring gears, and most types of internal and external splines.
Measuring the pitch diameter of a gear or spline (internal or external) using gage pins and micrometers, is time consuming, tedious, and susceptible to operator vulnerability. Each of our gages is designed according to the part specifications, and is not adjustable for a wide variety of sizes. Using a gage designed for only one dimension, for a high production part, will be far more accurate and repeatable than an "adjustable" gage. Thus, we offer fast and accurate measurement, with a gage that is rugged enough to withstand a factory environment.
Comtorgages are being used in all aspects of gear manufacturing including hobbing, rolling, grinding, shaving, injection molding, fine blanking, forging, broaching, and pressing. Besides being fast and accurate, our gages are cost effective.
Comtorgage also offers dedicated gaging for grooves, threads, recesses, trepans, keyways, spherical bores, and many other characteristics of either internal or external applications.
