Klingelnberg P 16 Precision Measuring Center To be Presented at A&T Exhibition and Expomaq 2018
Innovative technologies in automated production and precision measurement - these have been the hallmarks of the A&T (Automation & Testing) show in Turin, Italy, since 2007. Klingelnberg Group will be presenting its versatile range of products and services this year at A&T 2018. Befitting of the theme of this year's exhibit, "Industry 4.0," the Italian subsidiary Klingelnberg Italiana S.R.L will be presenting the P 16 G and the P 65 precision measuring centers, among other products, in a series of live demonstrations from April 18 to April 20, 2018 at booth AR8 E-F, hall Oval Lingotto Fiere.
The skyrocketing visitor numbers attest to the fact that the A&T trade show in the Italian city of Turin has become an outstanding forum for robotics and precision measurement since its start in 2007. Each year, it brings together innovative technologies on just under 4,000 square meters of exhibition space. This year's focus is on Industry 4.0, and a smart factory brought to life through a cooperative effort by the exhibition partners provides tangible examples of the type of solutions that are being realized today. The P 16 G and P 65 precision measuring centers presented by Klingelnberg also facilitate intelligent production concepts by making closed-loop automated quality control. The precision and robustness of the precision measuring centers in Klingelnberg's P series open up a notable potential for savings in quality assurance.
Whether disk-shaped components or short shafts - wherever gauges alone have previously been used for measuring - the P 16 G can perform the very same measurements directly on the shop floor. The advantage: The P 16 G measures any number of different components, making it significantly more flexible than gauges. The P 16 G does away with both the high cost of the gauges and the long replacement periods due to factors such as drawing changes. In addition, this newest addition to the P series family, used directly on the production machine, makes it possible to take advantage of statistical process control - and this ensures the traceability of components from the shop floor.
The P 65 precision measuring center also belongs to the new P series generation. Here the tried and tested technology was further developed specifically to meet the strict requirements for measuring accuracy in complete measurement of axially symmetrical precision parts. Beyond the technical functions, ease of operation and ergonomics are gaining importance, not only in processing machines but also in measuring machines. For this reason, Klingelnberg has thoroughly overhauled and standardized the design and ergonomics of its product range. The P 65 is the first machine in which function, design and ergonomics have been brought in line with the new standards.
In hall Oval Lingotto Fiere, booth AR8 E-F, visitors will be able to see the advantages of the new machines for themselves in a number of convincing live demonstrations - and will be able to experience the optimized ergonomics in a hands-on trial run.
At the same time, Klingelnberg will also be presenting at Expomaq. For the fourth time, Mexico's Expomaq - Innovación en Manufactura trade show in Léon is bringing together key decision-makers from Canada, the U.S. and Mexico who want to stay informed of the latest trends in construction machinery and machine tools, control engineering and software. Mexican subsidiary Klingelnberg México, S.A. de C.V will again present the portfolio of products and services from machine manufacturer Klingelnberg at the multi-sector trade show April 17-20. This year's exhibit will feature the new P 16 precision measuring center, which will be on display in Hall C4, booth 1906 of the German Pavilion, a shared space for German companies under the patronage of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
Every two years, the Expomaq focuses on experts from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) zone, occupying key exhibition sectors such as construction machinery and machine tools, robotics, software and forming and embossing processes, as well as handling and storage. The exhibition at the German Pavilion this year is being hosted for the second time by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) in partnership with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and supported by the German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW). Nineteen German companies in all will present technology "made in Germany" in the shared exhibition space. Among other products, Klingelnberg will be exhibiting its leading-edge P 16 precision measuring center for small workpieces.
"The P 16 is designed specifically to meet the requirements of small components, which are needed particularly in the automotive, power tool, pump, e-mobility and small drives market segments," says Adrian Hernandez, managing director of the Mexican subsidiary. The fully automatic CNC-controlled P 16 precision measuring center is designed as a compact unit for the workpiece diameter range up to 160 mm. The machine is used to inspect cylindrical gears, pinion type cutters, worms and worm wheels, hobs, bevel gears, general dimension, shape, and positional deviations of axially symmetrical workpieces, cam and camshaft measurement and rotor measurement. The P 16 owes its compact size to an innovative modification: Thanks to a newly developed workpiece clamping system, there is no need for a counter support.
Stringent precision requirements for gearing measurements and increasingly complex drive components demand the best measuring technology available and a machine and software concept optimized for these applications. This is why leading international manufacturers rely on precision measuring centers from Klingelnberg, which combine a range of different measurement tasks in a single machine, and the company is one of the most widely used standards in the industry and is used as a reference by metrology institutes.
Expomaq visitors can see Klingenberg's offerings "made in Germany" first-hand at booth 1906 in Hall C4.
